Pralines - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. sugar (1 light brown and 2 white)
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. pecans
Preparation

Mix together sugar, buttermilk and soda.
Cook until it makes a soft ball in cool water or until it reaches 236\u00b0 on a candy thermometer.
Then add vanilla and pecans.
Mix. Drop from a tablespoon on waxed paper.
Work fast as possible as it cools fast and the last ones will not be smooth.
Cook in large pan as the buttermilk and soda foams up and is likely to boil over.
