Dutch Ginger Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

6 oz. unsalted butter
8 oz. flour, sifted
6 oz. sugar
2 oz. crystallized ginger, chopped
1 egg, beaten
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Grease and line base of 8-inch cake pan. Cut butter into flour.
Stir in sugar and ginger.
Bind with most of the egg.
Knead dough until pliable.
Turn into pan.
Push down to smooth surface.
Pinch edge to decorate.
Using a knife, mark surface lightly in a lattice.
Glaze with remaining egg.
Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until firm to touch.
Cool in pan.
Serves 8.
