Dessert Coffee Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
1 c. flour

Preparation

Cream shortening, sugar and vanilla.
Add egg.
Beat.
Add dry ingredients alternating with milk.
Spread half of mixture in greased 8-inch pan.
Cover with Date Filling.
Add remaining batter.
