Punch Bowl Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 yellow cake (9 x 13-inch) or 2 (8 x 9-inch) round cake layers, prepared as directed from yellow cake mix
    1 large family size pkg. instant vanilla pudding, prepared as directed on box
    1 (20 oz.) can cherry pie filling
    1 (20 oz.) can fruit cocktail, drained
    1 (20 oz.) can chunk or tidbits drained pineapple
    1 (16 oz.) pkg. coconut
    1 (16 oz.) container Cool Whip
    1 c. pecans, chopped coarsely
Preparation
    Place one cake layer or one-half of 9 x 13-inch cake in bottom of a 1 gallon or larger punch bowl.
    (I use Tupperware cake box because I make 2 round layers.)
    Cover with 1/2 of instant vanilla pudding, 1/2 can cherry pie filling, 1/2 can of fruit cocktail, 1/2 pineapple and coconut and 1/2 of the Cool Whip.
    Sprinkle with 1/2 cup nuts.
