Caramel Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3 egg yolks, beaten
2 1/2 c. milk
1 baked pie shell
1 tsp. vanilla
2 Tbsp. margarine
Preparation

In heavy pan (better iron skillet), brown until dark the 1 cup sugar, stirring constantly.
At the same time, mix 1/2 cup sugar, flour, salt, egg yolks and milk in saucepan.
Place over medium heat, stirring constantly until somewhat thickened.
Pour into burnt sugar and cook over low heat until smooth.
Add margarine and vanilla.
Pour into pie shell.
May add meringue.
Stirring both requires some coordination.
