Mulligatawny Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. chicken broth
    1 small can crushed tomatoes
    1/2 c. chopped celery
    1/2 c. chopped apple
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/2 c. diced carrots
    1 Tbsp. parsley
    1 tsp. curry
    1 tsp. lemon juice
    1 1/2 c. cooked chicken pieces
    1 c. cooked rice
    salt and pepper
    fresh basil
    mushrooms (optional)
Preparation
    Simmer all ingredients but the chicken and rice which are added when the vegetables are done.
