Oatmeal Muffins - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. oats
1 c. buttermilk
1 egg
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 c. melted shortening
Preparation

Soak oatmeal in buttermilk for 1 hour.
Add egg and beat well. Add sugar and milk.
Add flour, sifted with salt, powder and soda. Add cooled shortening.
Bake in greased muffin pans in 400\u00b0 oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
Makes 1 dozen.
