Tamale Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 pkg. corn tortillas
    1 medium onion
    1 large can tamales
    1 small can tomato sauce
    Cheddar cheese, grated
Preparation
    Brown meat. Add onion and tomato sauce. Season to taste.
    Set aside.
    Line a large dish with corn tortillas.
    Add tamales. Add half of the meat on top of the tamales (may split tamales lengthways, if desired).
    Make second layer of corn tortillas, tamales and meat.
    Place grated cheese on top. Add approximately 10 ounces water to dish. Cover with foil, loosely.
    Cook at 300\u00b0 to 350\u00b0 for about 15 to 20 minutes until cheese melts evenly. Uncover and cook for about 5 or 10 minutes more.
    You may serve with picante sauce as desired.
