Mary'S Persimmon Beer - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    persimmons (enough to fill a 2 gal. crock with a spigot, about 4 doz.)
    1 c. sugar
    2 or 3 bunches needles from a pine tree (pine straw)
Preparation
    Place pine straw at the bottom of the crock.
    Fill crock with whole persimmons, leaving a 3-inch air space at top.
    Sprinkle with sugar.
    Add warm water to cover.
    Seal.
    Let stand for 1 week. Strain free-flowing liquid through spigot and drink. Try it.
