Ingredients

1 c. flour
1/3 c. nonfat dry milk
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/8 tsp. salt
2 eggs
non-nutritive sweetener equivalent to 8 tsp. sugar
3 Tbsp. unsweetened fruit liquid (any fruit)
1/2 c. unsweetened applesauce
10 almonds, blanched and cut in quarters
Preparation

Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
Sift dry ingredients together 3 times. Mix eggs, sweetener and fruit liquid.
Beat at top speed of mixer until fluffy and thick (about 10 minutes).
Decrease speed; add applesauce and beat 3 minutes.
Carefully fold in dry ingredients. Drop by teaspoons onto lightly greased cookie sheet.
Place 1/4 almond on each cookie.
Bake about 10 minutes.
Cookie will spring back at light touch when done.
(May be placed under broiler to give deeper finish.)
