Oyster Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 gal. milk
    1 pt. half and half cream
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1/2 c. butter
    1 to 2 pt. oysters with liquid
Preparation
    Combine milk, cream, salt and pepper in a large heavy kettle. Heat over medium heat until milk is scalded.
