White Bread - cooking recipe

1 cake yeast
1/4 c. warm water (110~ to 120~)
1 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. shortening
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 c. milk, scalded
about 6 c. flour
Preparation

Add yeast to warm water and sugar (1 teaspoon).
Let stand 5 minutes.
