Texas Fried Okra - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. yellow corn meal
    3/4 c. flour
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 lb. (about 4 c.) fresh okra
    1 Tbsp. buttermilk or milk
    1/3 c. oil
Preparation
    In a plastic bag,
    combine
    corn
    meal, flour, salt and pepper.
    Cut okra into
    1/2-inch slices and pour buttermilk or milk over okra and toss.
    Place okra in plastic bag and shake. In a skillet, heat oil
    and
    add
    okra.
    Fry on moderate heat, turning frequently, until crispy
    and
    brown.
    Drain
    on paper towels.
    Serve immediately.
