Hot Shrimp Salad Or Scallop Appetizer - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head leafy lettuce (romaine, bibb, red or green leaf)
    1/4 lb. butter
    1 Tbsp. olive oil
    2 Tbsp. chopped shallots
    1 Tbsp. chopped garlic
    1/2 tsp. kosher or sea salt
    1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
    shrimp (5 large per person)
    scallops (5 large per person)
Preparation
    Clean lettuce, dry and arrange on salad plates.
    Heat saute pan, add olive oil and melt butter.
    Saute shallots first, then add garlic and saute until wilted.
    Saute shrimp or scallops until done.
    Serve on bed of lettuce and dress with pinch of salt and ground black pepper.
    For more intense flavor, brown 1/2 pound lean bacon, reserve bacon and substitute bacon drippings for butter.
