Green Tomato Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 lb. white sugar
    3 pt. white vinegar
    1 pt. water
    1 tsp. whole cloves
    1 tsp. whole ginger
    1 tsp. allspice
    1 tsp. mace
    1 stick cinnamon
Preparation
    Soak 7 pounds of green tomatoes, sliced, overnight in 2 gallons of water in which 1 cup of lime has been dissolved. Drain after soaking. Wash and soak in fresh water for 4 hours, changing water every hour.
