Ingredients

1 1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
8 Tbsp. syrup (sorghum or molasses)
2 eggs
4 c. plain flour
4 tsp. soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. ginger
Preparation

Thoroughly cream the shortening and sugar. Add syrup and well beaten eggs.
Add dry ingredients and beat until smooth. Roll into small balls (size of walnuts). Roll in granulated sugar and place 2-inches apart on a greased baking sheet. Bake at 350\u00b0 until done, about 12 minutes.
Store in airtight containers.
The longer kept, the better the cookies.
