Aunt Sally'S Red Devil'S Food - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or shortening
    2 c. sugar
    2 eggs, well beaten
    1 heaping tsp. soda, dissolved in 1 c. sour milk
    2 1/2 c. cake flour
    1/2 c. cocoa, dissolved in 1/2 c. hot water
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream butter.
    Gradually add sugar; cream thoroughly.
    Add eggs and cocoa, alternately.
    Add flour, sour milk and vanilla. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
