Marge Birsky'S Hamburger Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    5 c. water
    1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes, cut up
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 c. sliced carrots
    1 c. chopped celery
    1/3 c. pearl barley
    1/4 c. catsup
    1 tsp. instant beef bouillon granules
    2 tsp. seasoned salt
    1 tsp. dried basil, crushed
    1 bay leaf
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Brown beef; drain fat.
    Add rest of ingredients (tomatoes, undrained) in saucepan.
    Bring to boiling; reduce heat, then simmer, covered, for 1 hour, until vegetables are tender.
    Season to taste with salt and pepper; remove bay leaf.
