Ingredients

1 c. chopped dates
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. milk
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. butter or oleo
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Combine dates and water; bring to boiling.
Simmer 5 minutes. Cool. Set aside 2 tablespoons of date mixture for frosting.
Beat in egg, sugar, butter and milk.
Stir together flour, salt, baking powder and soda.
Add to egg mixture.
Stir in nuts.
Drop from teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
Cool.
