Banana Nut Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. mashed banana
3 c. flour
1 1/4 c. buttermilk
1 1/2 tsp. soda
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation

Cream the shortening and sugar.
Add eggs one at a time.
Add mashed banana and vanilla.
Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk and nuts.
Put into two 9 x 5-inch loaf pans and bake 45 to 50 minutes at 350\u00b0.
Cool for 10 minutes, then remove from pan.
Slice when cold.
Keeps moist when tightly wrapped.
Freezes well.
