Holiday Fruit Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. flour
    1 c. oleo
    2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    2 eggs
    1 c. whole bran cereal
    1/2 c. milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. chopped nuts
    2 c. candied cherries, halved
    2 c. chopped dates
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
    Beat oleo and sugar.
    Add eggs; beat well.
    Mix bran cereal, milk and vanilla. Stir in dry ingredients with cherries, nuts and dates; mix well. Spread batter into two greased 9 x 9-inch baking pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for about 40 minutes.
    When cool, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
    Cut in squares and serve.
