Ingredients

1 1/8 c. sugar
3 or 4 Tbsp. flour
3/8 tsp. salt
3 1/4 c. milk
5 eggs, separated
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla flavoring
vanilla wafers
6 medium size ripe bananas, sliced
Preparation

Combine 3/4 cup sugar, flour and salt in 3-quart bowl; stir in milk.
Microwave on High for 10 to 11 minutes, stirring about every minute and 30 seconds.
Beat egg yolks.
Gradually stir in hot mixture.
Return to microwave; cook on High for 1 1/2 to 3 minutes, stirring every 20 seconds.
Remove from microwave and stir in vanilla flavoring.
Let custard cool partly before lining bottom of casserole dish with vanilla wafers and bananas.
Pour a portion of custard over the bananas.
Continue to layer wafers, bananas and custard, ending with custard on top.
