Corn Light Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. self-rising meal
    1/2 c. self-rising flour
    1/2 c. or less sugar
    1 egg, well beaten
    2 c. buttermilk
    4 Tbsp. melted shortening or bacon drippings
Preparation
    Mix meal, flour, sugar, eggs and buttermilk thoroughly.
    Add melted shortening.
    Pour into loaf pan to within 1-inch of top. Bake for 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
