Italian Biscotti - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 eggs
    1 c. butter or margarine
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. anise extract or oil
    3 Tbsp. baking powder
    2 tsp. vanilla
    6 c. flour
    1/2 lb. toasted almonds
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar thoroughly.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating mixture until light and fluffy.
    Add vanilla, anise and nuts.
    Add flour sifted with baking powder and salt.
    Mix well. Knead like bread.
    Shape into 6 to 7 loaves.
    Brush top of loaves with 1 beaten egg.
    Bake 30 to 40 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Remove from oven; cut diagonally into small pieces.
    Return to oven.
    Toast until light brown.
