Ingredients

3 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. double-acting baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar (granulated)
1 unbeaten egg
2 Tbsp. milk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Blend dry ingredients; set aside.
Cream the butter and sugar, creaming well.
Add egg, milk and vanilla.
Add dry ingredients gradually.
Chill dough 1 hour.
Roll out on floured surface, half at a time, to 1/8-inch thickness.
Cut into desired shapes.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 5 to 8 minutes.
