Pennsylvania Dutch Sugar Cakes - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. butter, oleo or Crisco
1 3/4 c. sugar
3 eggs, beaten
3 c. flour, not sifted
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 c. thick sour milk
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3 Tbsp. sugar for topping
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar thoroughly.
Mix in beaten eggs.
Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture alternately with sour milk.
Add almonds and vanilla flavorings.
Pour into 3 greased 8-inch pie pans.
Sprinkle 1 tablespoon sugar on top of each. Bake at 350\u00b0 about 25 minutes.
