Ingredients

2 sticks margarine, softened
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. plain flour, sift before measuring
2/3 c. cocoa
3/4 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Preparation

Cream butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy. Combine soda and salt and stir together with flour and cocoa.
Add to butter mixture.
Stir in chips and nuts.
Drop by rounded teaspoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes or just until set.
Leave a few (2 to 3) minutes to cool before removing from pan.
