Green Tomato Chow-Chow - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head cabbage
    1 1/2 qt. onions
    1 1/2 qt. bell pepper
    1 gal. green tomatoes
    2 1/4 qt. vinegar
    3/4 c. salt
    1 Tbsp. turmeric
    4 Tbsp. flour
    3 Tbsp. ground mustard
    1 Tbsp. celery
    3 1/2 c. sugar
Preparation
    Chop vegetables fine.
    Sprinkle with salt; let stand overnight.
    Drain.
    Mix turmeric, flour and mustard with enough water to make smooth paste.
    Let vinegar come to a boil; add mixture.
    Add all other ingredients, including vegetables.
    Boil for 10 minutes.
    Seal in jars while hot.
    Yields 12 pints.
