Refrigerator Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sugar
    4 c. vinegar
    1/2 c. pickling salt
    1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1/2 Tbsp. celery seed
    1/2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    onions
    cucumbers
Preparation
    Use a one-gallon wide mouth jar.
    Slice cucumbers and onions thinly and layer tightly in jar.
    Mix remaining ingredients and pour over cucumbers.
    Shake daily.
    Store in refrigerator.
    Ready to eat in 5 days.
