Perfect Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. long-grain rice
    3 c. water (plus)
    salt to taste
Preparation
    Cook rice on medium heat.
    As rice begins to swell and absorb water, continue to add more water, stirring often.
    Sample rice to determine when it is soft and done.
    When done, fill pot full with hot water, stirring well.
    Strain in colander and serve.
