Old Fashioned Tea Cakes(1920) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1/4 tsp. soda
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. sour milk or buttermilk
1 tsp. lemon or vanilla extract
1 egg
flour (to make a stiff dough)
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add egg, milk, soda, baking powder and flour in small amounts until dough is stiff enough to roll. Roll out or cut in shape desired.
Bake at 300\u00b0 until lightly colored.
