Ingredients

2 qt. milk
2 c. sugar
dash of salt
4 beaten eggs
1 Tbsp. vanilla
Preparation

Heat over low heat one quart milk.
Stir in until dissolved sugar and salt.
Next add already beaten eggs.
Beat with beater while cooking over low heat until mixture is thick and smooth.
Do not boil.
Cool and then add vanilla and remaining quart of cold milk.
Pour into ice cream freezer and crank away.
You can add 2 cups of fresh fruit for variety.
If you want richer, add 1 pint whipped cream.
