24-Hour Layered Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small iceberg lettuce, cut into bite-size
    1/2 green pepper, chopped
    1/2 c. celery, chopped
    1/2 c. onion, chopped
    1 pkg. frozen peas (uncooked)
    4 oz. Cheddar cheese, shredded
    bacon bits if desired
    1 1/2 c. mayonnaise, mixed with 2 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Layer all the ingredients, ending with cheese and bacon bits.
