Ingredients

1 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
4 c. flour
1 tsp. nutmeg
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1 lb. chopped dates
1 c. raisins
1 c. nuts
1 c. crushed pineapple with juice
1 c. chopped candied fruit
Preparation

Cream sugar, shortening and eggs until light.
Sift together flour, nutmeg, cinnamon and baking soda.
Add to egg mixture, then add the rest of the ingredients.
Add 1/4 cup of milk, if necessary.
Coat fruits with part of the flour.
Drop by teaspoonful on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375\u00b0 until light brown.
