Cabbage Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. browned hamburger
    1 small onion, chopped
    1 1/2 c. water
    2 cans tomatoes, crushed
    1 can pinto beans
    3 slices bacon, cut up
    3 c. shredded cabbage
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Put the bacon pieces in pan and fry until almost done.
    Then add all other ingredients, except hamburger meat.
    I add that about 30 minutes before soup is done.
    You may also add carrots, English peas, corn or any other vegetable you would like, but if you add extra vegetables, you will also need to add extra liquid. Cook about 1 1/2 hours.
