Ingredients

1/2 c. unsalted butter, at room temperature
1/4 c. vegetable shortening, at room temperature
1/2 c. light brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 to 3 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preparation

In mixing bowl (using a wooden spoon) or in the large bowl of an electric mixer, cream the butter and shortening together until well-blended and soft.
Then beat in sugars in turn, beating well after each until fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well each time, then beat in vanilla.
