Quick Caramel Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. light brown sugar, firmly packed
    1/8 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. margarine or butter
    1/3 c. cream or milk
Preparation
    Cook, stirring, until sugar is dissolved, then cool, without stirring, until mixture forms a soft ball.
    (Drop small amount in cold water to check.)
    Cool to lukewarm.
