Anise Toast - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 lb. butter or margarine
2 c. sugar
6 eggs
2 tsp. anise flavoring
6 c. flour
6 tsp. baking powder
nuts (optional)
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs, one at a time; beat well. Add anise flavoring.
Sift together flour and baking powder gradually.
Add to butter-egg mixture.
Flour board and knead dough.
Shape into large loaf divided into thirds.
Roll each in small amount of flour.
Form into loaves, pat and shape.
Bake 30 to 35 minutes at 350\u00b0.
Slice.
Put on cookie sheet.
Bake an additional 10 minutes.
