Chocolate Town Special Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    2/3 c. shortening
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. buttermilk
    1/2 c. cocoa
    1/2 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease and flour two 9-inch layer cake pans.
    Cream the sugar and shortening together until creamy and light.
    Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.
    Add vanilla; sift together with baking soda and salt.
    Add alternately with buttermilk.
    Make a heavy smooth paste of the cocoa and boiling water.
    Cool slightly.
    Add and blend well.
    Pour into pans and bake for about 35 minutes or until done.
