Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large onion, finely chopped
    1 tsp. flour
    2 cans minced clams
    1/2 tsp. basil
    pinch of thyme
    salt and pepper to taste
    2 Tbsp. margarine
    8 strips bacon
    1 potato, peeled and finely chopped
    1 c. half and half or cream
Preparation
    Saute onion in butter until tender.
    Cook for 5 minutes.
    Add remaining ingredients; simmer about 10 minutes.
    Serve with cheese straws while hot.
    Delicious.
