Date And Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 3/4 c. flour
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. melted butter
    1 egg
    1 c. chopped walnuts
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 pkg. dates, cut up and pour 1 c. boiling water over
    2 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1/2 c. boiling water
Preparation
    Cream butter, sugar and beaten egg.
    Add all other ingredients. Put in two bread tins or in 5 mini loaf pans (6 x 3 1/4 x 2-inch). Grease pans and bake in moderate oven at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
