Apple Torte - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    4 c. diced apples
    2 c. flour
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. nutmeats (optional)
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Beat in eggs.
    Beat in 1 cup of the apples.
    Add dry ingredients.
    Fold in remaining 3 cups apples and nuts.
    Place in large greased pan such as broiler pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
