Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 stick butter
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    5 egg yolks
    5 egg whites
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 small can coconut
    1 c. pecans
Preparation
    Cream butter, shortening and sugar.
    Add egg yolks.
    Combine flour and soda.
    Alternate with buttermilk.
    Beat egg whites until stiff.
    Fold in egg whites, coconut, nuts and vanilla.
    Bake in 3 greased and floured cake pans at 350\u00b0 for 25 minutes.
