Salad Apple Ring - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 pkg. apple flavored gelatin
    4 Tbsp. lemon juice
    2 (7 oz.) cans lemon-lime carbonated beverage, well chilled
    2 unpared tart red apples
    1 c. halved seedless green grapes
Preparation
    Dissolve gelatin and dash of salt in 2 cups hot water; cool to room temperature and add lemon juice.
    Carefully pour lemon-lime beverage down side of bowl; stir gently with up and down motion. Chill until partially set.
    Meanwhile, core apples and slice very thinly.
    Add apples and grapes to gelatin mixture, stirring gently with up and down motion.
    Pour into 2-quart ring mold.
    Chill until firm.
    Unmold.
