Basic Cream Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. milk
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. flour
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    2 eggs, separated
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Scald 1 1/2 cups milk
    in
    top of double boiler.
    Combine sugar, flour, cornstarch and salt.
    Stir
    in
    remaining
    1/2
    cup milk and egg yolks.
    Stir flour mixture into
    hot
    milk
    and
    cook until thickened. Remove from heat.
    Add butter and
    vanilla.
    Let cool a little and pour into baked pie shell.
    Cover with meringue.
