Toffee Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. brown sugar, packed
    2 c. flour
    1/2 c. soft oleo
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. milk
    1 egg
    1 c. chocolate chips
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Blend brown sugar, flour and oleo until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Remove 1 cup and set aside.
    To remaining crumbs, add baking powder, salt, vanilla, milk and egg.
    Mix until smooth. Spread batter evenly in 9 x 13-inch buttered pan.
    Sprinkle on chips and nuts.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
