Party Mints - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. unsalted butter, softened
    1 (1 lb.) pkg. powdered sugar, sifted
    2 to 3 drops oil of peppermint
    paste food coloring
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. light brown sugar
    2 Tbsp. light corn syrup
    1/2 c. evaporated milk
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Combine sugar, salt, brown sugar, syrup and milk in medium saucepan.
    Cook over medium heat until temperature reaches 234\u00b0 on candy thermometer.
    Add butter, vanilla and pecans.
    Stir until thick.
    Drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper.
    Cool.
