North Carolina Corn Pone - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. water ground meal
    1 Tbsp. lard
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. milk
    enough water to make soft batter
Preparation
    Mix ingredients well.
    Bake or fry in pones (small cakes) until light brown.
    If baking, bake at 400\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
