Refrigerator Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 c. cucumber slices
    1 c. sliced onion
    1 Tbsp. salt
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. vinegar
    1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. dill or dill seed
Preparation
    Sprinkle cucumbers and onion with salt.
    Let stand 1 1/2 hours. Drain and rinse.
    Mix but do not heat dressing.
    Pour over cucumbers and onions in jars.
    Let stand in refrigerator, the longer the better.
    More cukes and onions can be added to the same solution several times.
