Banana Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1 c. sugar (white)
    3 large bananas (overripe)
    1 egg
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1/4 tsp. salt
    nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Cream butter, sugar and well beaten egg.
    Mash bananas with fork and add to butter, sugar and egg mixture.
    Sift together dry ingredients and add to mixture.
    Pour into buttered loaf pan. Bake at 300\u00b0 to 325\u00b0 for 1 hour in 8 x 4 x 4-inch pan.
